Iran top ME mineral producer sans fuels
(Minews) - According to the latest report Iran is the best miner in the Middle East regardless of fuel mining.
In a recently published report on the world mining status, the World Mining Data 2015, Iran has garnered rank 8th in the world in terms of minerals production value while Saudi Arabia standing on the third place with 445,383 million dollars out of its total 447,034 million dollars from fuel minerals.
According to the report Iran has earned 4,237 million dollars in the category of Iron and Ferro-alloys while Saudi intake of this category is just 36 million dollars similar to other categories like Non-Ferrous metals, and industrial minerals in which Iran’s incomes are respectively 2,276 and 885 million dollars against Saudi numbers of 402 and 516 million dollars.
Including all metal and non-metal minerals, precious metals and mineral fuels (oil and gas) sans diamonds, Iran’s mineral production totaled over $162 billion.
The report shows that Iran stands higher vis-à-vis Brazil, India and South Africa. China with $777 billion value of production tops the table.
