Iran, Guinea-Conakry to reactivate bauxite mine
 
(Minews) - Iran and Guinea Conakry on Friday discussed taking initial steps for re-activation of the bauxite mine in Guinea -Conakry after a 23-year delay in the project.

The Shareholders and managerial board of the Societe des Bauxites de Dabola-Tougue (SBDT) in their joint General Assembly meeting on Friday agreed on resumption of activity of the SBDT as well as on extending the formerly reached agreements and mineral licenses.

The SBDT company was established and is located in Guinea-Conakry, intending to call for qualifying and evaluation of the EPC contractors to participate in an international Tendering for transferring Bauxite Ore through pipeline from the mine to the port in Guinea-Conakry.

Iranian and Guinean Conakry officials inked industrial and mineral cooperation agreements on July 3, 2008.

As per the agreement, Guinea-Conakry undertook to supply the bauxite of the Iranian aluminum industry.
