Founded in 1913, Metal Bulletin covers all global metals and steel markets and provides a comprehensive package of the latest news, pricing information, expert market commentary and statistics. Metals covered in detail include base metals, minor and precious metals, ores and alloys, raw materials, carbon steel, stainless and special steel, scrap and secondary, with additional coverage of freight news, capital markets and exchange news and prices. For the last 30 years, Metal Bulletin Events has delivered a global portfolio of 50 annual market-leading conferences for the metals, mining and minerals industries. In 2015 nearly 10,000 people will attend these conferences, representing more than 2,300 organizations from 140 countries.Metal Bulletin Events brings the global iron & steel industry to Iran for inaugural Iranian Iron & Steel Conference. Metal Bulletin Events’ Iranian Iron & Steel Conference will welcome 300+ attendees from, 145+ companies. The audience will come from 29 countries including 50% attendance from Iranian organizations plus 18% Europe, 17% Asia and 14% from the Middle East. It will be a good chance for both Iranian and Foreign Steel and Iron ore companies CEO , Experts and Mangers to interact and exchange their views, attitudes for a better cooperation in a near future . After a decade of sanction and global restriction on Iran as well as its Steel Industry, now the time has come to concentrate and reconsider this attractive market by the global steel companies . Iran is nearly producing 16 mtpa steel and has a plan to produce more than 55 mtpa in2020 .Vienna Nuclear agreement has paved the way for Iranian Steel Industry to have a big jump on one hand and have opened the door for steel making companies to try their chances to regain their shares Iran's steel market on the other hand. During last one year so many steel companies put their baskets in a queue , mostly are looking for EPC and a few are looking for Joint ventures or investment , however Iran's Steel Industry has learned many lessons in Sanction period, the lessons that helped it to mature and get more self depended even get localized in some sectors. Steel companies that are looking for entering into Iran's Market have to keep in mind that Iranian Steel Market is not like 10 years ago that they could easily have plenty of projects in EPC form but they have to think about the local competitors that have changed the game and also need to consider technology transfer and investment as part of their package to be welcomed again. Metal Bulletin Events will welcome 20+ conference speakers including Iran's Minister of economic affairs and Finance, IMIDRO chairman of the Board and some Iranian as well as foreign Steel companies CEO. of Mines and Mining .Metal Bulletin Events’ Iranian Iron & Steel Conference is supported by 17 sponsors & exhibitors .Holding events and conferences in global scale through leading organizers that have got worldwide networks and reputation that can easily gather the world top companies will help Iran's Mines and Mining Industries to present its capabilities , potentials and investment opportunities as fast as possible in order to compensate the decade of its deprivation in the global Market. Iran has got so many advantages for investors and Steel companies such as cheap energy, skilled educated manpower , plenty of Iron ore mines as raw material supply and a huge domestic market demand that makes it an attractive and unique market for next decade in MENA .Author: Salman Nasr , IMIDRO international Relations Senior Expert & Metal Bulletin's kish Conference Executive Manager. ]]> Steel Mon, 14 Sep 2015 07:48:45 GMT http://www.minews.ir/en/doc/news/27498/iran-s-steel-industry-hosts-the-world-leading-steel-companies Iran's steel output ups 3.7% http://www.minews.ir/en/doc/news/27042/iran-s-steel-output-ups-3-7 (Minews) – IMIDRO announced that Iran has produced 9.6 million tons of crude steel in the last seven months of 2015.Up to August, Iran has produced 9.645 million tons crude steel in 2015 showing increase by 3.7 percent compared with the same period in 2014 when the figure was 9.305 million tons, as Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development & Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) quoted the World Steel Association (WSA) saying as such on Saturday.According to WSA, 65 world steel producing countries have produced 945.843 million tons of crude steel in the last seven months down by 2.1 percent compared with the same period of preceding year, as the figure was 966.482 million tons in 2014.World 65 steel producing countries output decreased 3.8 percent to 132.900 million tons in July 2015. It has lost nearly 25 percent so far this year. ]]> Steel Sat, 08 Aug 2015 13:58:53 GMT http://www.minews.ir/en/doc/news/26721/nippon-steel-sees-no-recovery-in-asia-steel-prices-before-april Iran seeks $29 billion for steel to mining projects http://www.minews.ir/en/doc/news/26598/iran-seeks-29-billion-for-steel-to-mining-projects (Minews) - Iran has $29 billion of mining investments attracting interest of companies from Europe to Asia, with plans to more than double steel production by 2025 and boost exports once international sanctions are lifted.Iran, home to the world’s biggest natural gas reserves, plans projects ranging from steel to aluminum production, gold mining and copper, Mehdi Karbasian, deputy minister of Iran’s Ministry of Industries, Mines & Trade, said in an interview in Tehran. German, French and Dutch delegations visited Iran in the past few weeks, and a two-day seminar on steel opportunities is tentatively set for September on Kish Island in the Persian Gulf, he said. Companies looking to invest don’t want to be identified until sanctions are removed, he said.Iran has more than 3,000 active mines, mostly privately owned, with 9 percent of the world’s gypsum production and 2 percent of molybdenum and nitrogen output, according to a 2010 report by the U.S. Geological Survey. Oil producers such as BP Plc and Royal Dutch Shell Plc have expressed interest in developing Iran’s crude reserves, the world’s fourth-biggest.“Sanctions imposed on Iran did certainly hurt the Iranian people and also certainly slowed development in steel and other fields,” Karbasian said Sunday at the headquarters of the Iranian Mines & Mining Industries Development & Renovation Organization, where he also serves as chairman. “Investment in Iran when sanctions are lifted will be win-win situation.”Iron OreIran has 2.7 billion pounds of iron ore, used to make steel, according to Karbasian. Steel production is set to jump to 55 million metric tons by 2025 from 22 million tons this year, pending new investment and the end of international sanctions following the nation’s nuclear accord with world powers last month, he said. Sanctions against Iran’s oil industry should be lifted by late November, state-run Islamic Republic News Agency reported yesterday, citing Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh.“The projected capacity will help us to raise our steel exports by around 12 million tons a year,” he said. Last year, Iran exported 2.5 million tons of steel products to Italy, the United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Thailand, Spain and Britain, he said.German, French and Dutch delegations visited Iran in recent weeks, he said. “We have held extensive negotiations with them in regard to investments in the steel and mining industries,” Karbasian said. “We have also had negotiations with representatives of British and Austrian companies.”Negotiations are under way with unidentified Japanese companies for them to invest in the Makran steel plant, which has capacity to produce 3 million tons of steel, in Iran’s free trade zone of Chabahar on the coast of the Gulf of Oman, he said.
