(Minews) - Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) has upgraded one of its pot lines to AP36 technology, which will allow Alba to boost its output by a further 4,000 tpy, the company said.
The technology upgrade, in pot line 4, will increase the line current to 360 kA from 355 kA previously, the company added.
Pot line 4 began started operations in 1992 with a line current of 295 kA. The upgrade is part of the company’s plan to increase performance levels across the plant.
“Alba believes in the principles of lean management and operational efficiency, and it is a matter of pride to have achieved this key milestone with a dedicated in-house team without significant capital investment,” Alba’s chief operations officer Isa Al-Ansari said in a statement.
