Minews - Iran's cement output exceeds 15.7 million tons

(Minews) - Ministry of Industry, Mines and Trade announced on Sunday that in the first three months of this year cement production reached 15.774 million tons and clinker output passed 19.264 million tons.

The Ministry said that in the same period around 4.34 million tons cement were exported abroad.

It said that during month of Khordad (May 22 to June 22) more than 5.8 million tons cement was produced and clinker output stood at 6.40 million tons.

Meanwhile, in the first three months of the Iranian year more than 12.67 million tons cement was distributed inside the country.

The Employers Guild Association for cement industry said that in the past year (1393) the total cement and clinker export exceeded 18.94 million tons, while this figure in year 1392 was 18.813 million tons.

Iran is one of fourth main cement producers of the world possessing the first rank in the Middle East.

Iranian Current output capacity in cement is 80 million tons a year, which is expected to reach 120 million tons in the next 10 years.

Now there are 70 cement producing plants in the country to meet domestic supply.

Iran produced 66.40 million tons cement in past year (1393) and 70 million tons clinker in the same period.
