Explosion in Iranian steel factory kills 3

(Minews) - An official with Iran's Esfahan Steel Company (ESCO) announced that three workers died and 6 others were injured in a Thursday morning explosion in the company's factory.

The Esfahan Steel Company has three converters, one of which exploded this morning, Mohammad Reza Kajbaf, ESCO's Director of Public Relations told the Tasnim News Agency.

He further noted that the explosion, which took place at 3 a.m., was a workshop accident that killed three workers and injured 6.

Out of the six injured workers, three are in stable conditions but have been shocked by the explosion wave, Kajbaf announced, adding that the three remaining have burns and are being treated in a hospital in Isfahan.

Esfahan Steel Company in the central city of Isfahan is the first and largest manufacturer of constructional steel products in Iran.
