Minews - Mobarekeh steel mills make up for 51 percent of steel output

(Minews) - Mobarekeh steel Mills including Hormuzgan and Saba, crude steel ouput make up for 51 percent of the national steel output in the first four months of the year 2015.

Production of crude steel in IMSG in the first four months of 2015 rose up by 17 percent compared with the preceding year, with 2.564 million tons.

Crude steel production of the group on April 2015 rose by six percent compared with the preceding period with 652,000 tons, 51 percent of total steel production.

According to IMSC, in the first fourth months of 2015 the company produced 1,913,226 tons steel with 20 percent growth, Saba company produced 251,288 tons with three percent growth and Hormuzgan Steel Company produced 399,841 tons steel made 11 percent growth.

The World Steel Association said that Iran's total crude steel production in the first four months of the year 2015 made 3.4 percent growth, while world largest producers of steel were facing with a downward trend.

Some 65 member states of the World Steel Association have produced more than 536 million tons of crude steel in the first four months of the year, which was 1.7 percent less than the output in the same period of last year.

China, as the largest world steel producer by more than 270 million tons production, had 1.3 percent less production compared with the same period in preceding year.

The US had 8.5 percent decrease, Japan 3.7 and South Korea 5.5 percent.

In the Middle East, Qatar had 14.2 percent decrease, but Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates had growth by 4.5 and 2.2 percent respectively.

India by producing 30 million tons crude steel had practically 6.7 percent increase in the four months.

Russia by producing more than 24 million tons registered a growth of 5.2 percent.

Isfahan Mobarakeh Steel Company is annually producing more than 5.6 million tons steel sheets and is the largest steel producer in the country.

Last year, around 1.225 million tons of IMSC's products were exported to different countries had 38 percent increase in value.
