East Azarbaijan steel output on the rise
(Minews) - According to head of Industry, Mine, and Trade Organization in East Azarbaijan Province, Hossein Nejati, the crude steel output in the province would increase to 21 million tons from the current 6 million within the next five years, IRNA reported.
He referred to 70 establishment and development licenses issued for steel companies which will produce steel billets and steel sections. According to the official, as much as 100 trillion rials have so far been invested in the province’s steel sector which has created employment for more than 6,000 people. Nejati added that the new steel plants and development plans will create 8,000 more jobs. Tabriz, Bonab, and Azarshahr are the major hubs for steel production in East Azarbaijan.
