IMIDRO:16.8 million tons of steel ingots produced
(Minews) - Over the past year more than 16.8 million tons of steel ingots have been produced in Iran, which in comparison to the preceding year (1392) shows a 7.4 percent growth, according to a report.

Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization ( IMIDRO) reported that country's steel companies in the past 12 months have produced 16.6 million tons of steel ingots, while the figure for the precedent year was 15.6 million tons.

Isfahan Mobarakeh Steel Company by producing 5.4 million tons took the first place and Khuzestan Steel Company with 3.4 million tons took the second place followed by Isfahan Zoube-Aahan Company with 2.7 million tons.

Hormuzgan Steel, Saba Steel and Khorasan Steel were among other main producers of steel ingots.

Steel production of aforementioned companies in the past year stood at 16.8 million tons while the firgure for the preceding year was 16.5 million tons.

Among 65 steel producing countries of the world, Iran ranks 14th and based on the country's Vision Plan its steel production would rise to 55 million tons in the next 10 years.

Based on statistics, current steel production in the country is 22 million tons annually.
