German technicians visit alumina production line in Azarbaijan province
(Minews) - A group of German technicians visited the production line of alumina from nepheline syenite in Sarab, Azarbaijan province under administration of Iranian Mines & Mining Industries Development & Renovation (IMIDRO) on Saturday.

The technicians have been dispatched by a German company interested in partnership with Iran in the project and the nepheline syenite production line opened in their presence.

The contract on transfer of technical know-how for alumina production from nepheline syenite was signed between IMIDRO and German Autotech Company two months ago.

The project left idle since the 1970s will go into operation after the conclusion of the contract as the project was prioritized 1.5 years ago.

The IMIDRO Chairman Mehdi Karbasian said that German companies can directly and with the participation of IMIDRO make investment in Iran.

Karbasian told a group of 30 managers of German companies that German companies and investors can make investment in Iran in partnership with one of the Iranian private sector companies.

He said that the government welcomes investment of German companies in Iran and supports foreign investment in Iran.

Karbasian said that sooner or later the sanctions will be lifted and Iran would go ahead with economic cooperation with the US, German and other European companies.

Meanwhile, Burkhard Dahmen, head of the German investors group and deputy of NUMOV expressed interest in the three methods suggested by IMIDRO for investment of German companies in Iran.

The German companies and investors present in the meeting are mostly involved in industrial and mining fields and some of them are currently cooperating with private sector companies in Iran’s mining sector.

NUMOV is the largest German business institute in the Middle East and North Africa with an aim of developing business with regional countries.
