25.7m tons of iron ore extracted in nine months

(Minews) - Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) said on Monday that in the first nine months of the Iranian calendar year of 1393 (started on March 21, 2014), eight big iron ore production units yielded more than 25.7 million tons of iron ore in the form of concentrates, pellets, magnetite and graded iron.

It said that in the period under study, Chadormalu Industrial-Mineral Complex in Yazd and Golgohar Facility in Kerman produced more than nine million and 7.5 million tons of iron ore respectively.

Markazi Iron Ore Facility in Kerman with 3.9 million tons of output, Sangan Iron Ore Complex in Khorassan Razavi, Sirjan Iron Ore Production Unit in Kerman, Jalalabad Zarand, Mishdavan, and Falat Markazi units in Kerman Province had shares of 2.2 million, one million tons, 978,000 tons, 597,000 tons and 316,000 tons respectively.

Eight major iron ore production units, i.e. Chadormalu, Gol Gohar, Markazi, Sangan, Sirjan, Jalalabad, Mishdavan, and Falat Markazi, produced as many as 17.043 million tons of iron ore in the first half of this year, showing two percent increase compared to the figure in the same period the previous year.
