Minews - Mobarakeh Steel Company produces 52% of Iran crude steel

Mobarakeh Steel Company produced 52% of Iran's crude steel in the first 9 months of the current Iranian year (started March 21).

(Minews) - Announcing the above, Mr Bahram Sobhani managing director of MSC, said the company produced 5.58 million tonnes of iron pellets in the period, which shows an increase of 18% compared to last year's figure.

The official added that the DRI (Direct Reduced Iron) plant of MSC produced 5.94 million tonnes of sponge iron, which increased by 17% compared with the corresponding figure of last year.

Mr Sobhani said 5.63 million tonnes of steel slabs were produced during the period, showing a 12% rise year on year.

Hot rolled iron sheet production amounted to 4.54 million tonnes during the period, indicating a 9% rise.
