Biggest aluminum smelter in Iran to be build

(Minews) – The contract to build biggest aluminum smelter in Iran (South Aluminum Company) was signed between Ghadir Investment Company and Iranian Mines & Mining Industries Development & Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) with an investment worth of 1.2 billion dollars.

As it planned, the project will go on stream within 36 months in Lamerd, Fars province and EPC contractor is an international engineering company.

The project with production capacity of 300,000 tonnes a year will be completed in three phases with combined capacity of 1 million tonnes.

Building of aluminum smelter would be financed 85 percent by Iran and China credit line and 15 percent by its main shareholders Ghadir Investment Company and IMIDRO.
